A shop down South Tacoma Way had a tuned convertible. Now I wish I had money.

I had a friend who had a 3000 gt vr-4. It was awesome, but it ate 2 engines and 3 gearboxes. Well one engine wasn't the car's fault, it was letting someone mess with the tune that had no idea what they were doing. . .

My cousin had a 92 SL with 170k miles on it, he blew the motor and sold it for 600.

I would LOVE to get a 1G VR4, I personally think the "GTO" is the coolest car Mitsubishi ever built.

I saw this one at cars and coffee today, 2G VR4

Ahhh...that brings back memory, though mine was pearl white, or whatever Mitsu called it at the time.

Great car, but horribly uncomfortable after an hour or so in the seat. It also had heavy steering and a bit of a strange power curve that took some getting used to. I loved it, but like a sports cars, after a certain number of miles, you have to decide to either do some serious maintenance or do the minimal stuff and let it go. I chose let it go and regretted it for a good little while — until I got an M3 and realized that the VR-4 was a good idea but one that BMW did far better.

When I was about 8 years old, there was a red one on my street. Except I didn't know it was a 3000GT. It was devoid of Mitsu-badging, instead featuring the prancing horse everywhere. A FERRARI ON MY STREET YOU GUISE! Took me a while, too. :)

Mitsubishi GTO is still around over here, but I haven't seen a stock one in the wild in a very long time.

I do. It's an awesome car in many respects but it looks better than it actually is.

I owned one! It's still the favorite car I've owned.

I remember it because I had one.

It was a '97 Panama Green Mica VR-4! I miss that car a lot, it was a ton of fun. I definitely got into more trouble than I should have. Unfortunately I only had it for a little over a year before I made the mistake of trading it for a '91 Supra.

I don't miss the maintenance on it though, which was a bit steep for a 17/18 year old to handle at the time.

I also feel like it'd be fun to track down one of the VR-4 Spyders someday, as it'd make a nice weekend car.

As a kid growing up I always wanted one of these, it was my dream car. My dad had a Mitsubishi Colt Sapporo and for my early birthdays me and my dad would go down to a Mitsubishi dealership and I would gravitate to one of these and I'd stand and admire it.
